this makes me think about my excursions into the southwest, particularly west texas, and how odd it felt not to have a signal on my phone for several hours at a time. but i admit i also liked it and liked not being able to go online, or text, or constantly feel like i had to check my rss feed, or blah blah blah. i began to wonder if people really use technology to stay connected or if they use it to distract themselves from all those weird and uncomfortable thoughts we all try to ignore.

Good point about connection or distraction. I think it can be equally both. Thanks for always taking things a little deeper. I like that you do.
